Please let me share a short note about three pioneers of our subject, all born in 1926 (in alphabetical order):
Maurice Auslander (born 3 August, 1926) had his 100th birthday a few weeks ago.
Charles Curtis (born 13 October, 1926) passed away a few moths ago on 3 May. He is known for his contributions to modular representations of finite groups, in particular his two volume text book with Irving Reiner, but also a nice book on the early history of the subject. Jean-Pierre Serre (born 15 September 1926) will be celebrated tomorrow.
