Below is an announcement for a position of “maître de conférences” (roughly translated as “lecturer” or “associate professor”) in the Algebra, Representations, Topology team in Strasbourg.

Poste MCF « Algèbre et Topologie » en 2024 - Institut de Recherche Mathématique Avancée (IRMA)
Un poste de maître de conférences au sein de l’IRMA devrait être mis au concours au printemps prochain. (La confirmation officielle de l’ouverture de ce poste est attendue courant décembre 2023).
La personne recrutée sur ce poste enseignera au sein de l’UFR de Mathématique et d’Informatique de l’Université de Strasbourg au niveau de la licence et du master. À terme, elle sera amenée à prendre des responsabilités pédagogiques au sein du Département de mathématiques.
Cette personne intégrera l’équipe « Algèbre, Représentations, Topologie » de l’IRMA. Il est attendu qu’elle renforcera l’expertise de l’équipe dans le domaine de la théorie de l’homotopie au sens large. Idéalement, elle sera en mesure d’interagir avec les membres du groupe, dont les intérêts scientifiques comprennent la topologie algébrique, la théorie des représentations (géométrique et combinatoire), les algèbres et variétés amassées, la théorie de Galois, et la cohomologie des groupes.

A permanent position of ‘maître de conférences’ in the Algebra, Representations, Topology team of Institut de Recherche Mathématique Avancée (IRMA) should open in the Spring of 2024. (To be officially confirmed in December 2023).
The duties for this position include teaching in the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of the University of Strasbourg at the undergraduate and masters level. Eventually, the position will involve other responsibilities in the Department of Mathematics.
The position is within the Algebra, Representations, Topology team of IRMA. The successful candidate will strengthen the expertise of the team in the domain of homotopy theory, widely understood. Ideally, they are expected to be able to interact with the group members, whose research interests include algebraic topology, representation theory (geometric and combinatorial), cluster algebras and varieties, Galois theory, and group cohomology.
