University of Bonn, Germany

The Algebra and Representation Theory Group at the University of Bonn has two permanent members: Jan Schröer and Catharina Stroppel. The group’s research interests include the following:

  • Categorification, TQFTs and knot invariants
  • Cluster algebras and their categorifications
  • Representation theory of finite-dimensional algebras
  • Representation theory of Lie algebras and quantum groups

The group runs a weekly research seminar.

Positions in our group are usually advertised through the Hausdorff Center for Mathematics, see there for more information. In addition to the Mathematical Institute of the University of Bonn, the group benefits from close contact and collaboration with visitors to the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn, where visiting and postdoc positions are also advertised.
